People comment and say, “This blog is so inspirational!” And this, and that. Smoking pot is inspirational? Partying until you’re slap-happy drunk? Wasting your life away for those temporary moments of self-satisfaction? Huh. I find that the ones that show God and his love and goodness are inspirational. Also, the ones that are wholesome and true. The ones that actually show you...

Glory Be
badwolfcomplex: Found this in my Christmas stocking! (Well, that’s a picture from Amazon. Mine isn’t the same, but similar.) One of the many reasons this was possibly the best Christmas ever. I used to have a similar ring when I joined ECYD! But mine broke a couple years back. I loved my rosary ring.

Saint of the Day
joecatholic: St. Stephen (1st century) Stephen was a deacon, a preacher, and the first Christian martyr. While preaching in the streets of Jerusalem, angry Jews who believed he was a blasphemer dragged him outside the city and stoned him to death. Among the mob was the man who later became St. Paul.

I have this friend in Chorus Class...
She was adopted from another country and is adjusting well to American life. She came up to me and said, “You smile all the time! You know why?” I asked her why. “It’s because you have God in your life!” It’s people like her that make me realize that everyone IS a light, an example, a guide. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that.

bethmeetsworld: I am 100% devoutly Catholic. Yep, I am against the legalization of gay marriage. I am also unequivocally against abortion. BUT CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, none of this means that I am homophobic. Or that I want to force women to raise children against their will.  These things are not mutually exclusive. And anyone who thinks that they are mutually exclusive is showing off their...

This Christmas... Very different.
While I hear my fellow students run out of school singing jolly Christmas love songs with the commencement of our Christmas Vacation (Or, as a certain Governor might like, “Holiday Vacation”), my mind can’t help but replay over and over again the many Christmas songs I hear on KLOVE. Earlier today, I felt a weird… something, in my heart. It...

How I Can and Cannot Identify with the Heavenly...
So, as some of you may know, the Catholic Church very recently (we’re talking last Thursday) celebrated the feast of the Immaculate Conception. This is the celebration of the fact that in God’s need for a pure, sinless vessel for His son, Jesus, Mary was born without sin and remained without sin her entire life. This is not the celebration of the conception of Jesus, as that’s...
